Malamocco
Malamocco is one of the oldest settlements in the Venetian Lagoon and its history dates back to the Roman age. At this time it was the port of Padua, being directly on the mouths of the then River Medoacus Maior (from which derives the name), the current Brenta. It is possible to hypothesize that Metamauco (the ancient name of Malamocco) could be easily reached also from other important places such as Aquileia, Ravenna and Altino thanks to the transit of the Via Popilia.
